Šis ir pirmais Aspazijas prozas izdevums angļu valodā. Grāmata veidota divās daļas: pirmajā ir tulkotājas priekšvārds un fragmenti no Aspazijas autobiogrāfijas, otrajā – Aspazijas stāsti, fantāzijas un noveles.

I regard Aspazija not only as a symbol of Latvia but of Everywoman. Aspazija lived in two radically different centuries. Born and raised in rual Latvia, she spent months in Russia and 15 years in Switzerland. All she was and what she encountered she recorded in her poetry, dramas, and prose, giving significant universal dimensions. As her work, so she was compassionate, honest, and beautiful. In spite of daunting obstacles - personal, social, political - Aspazija, her works, and her blazing spirit have survived and entered the 21st century in new interpretations and translations, ready to celebrate the 150th anniversary of her birth.
